Arun has been a member of the La Verne Chamber of Commerce for 12 years and has served as a member of the Board for 9 years. He is also a past Chair of the Board. He is active Committee Member of the Good Samaritan Fund for the Hillcrest Homes, Taste of La Verne and Community Yard sale
He is the current Chair of San Gabriel Valley Legislative Coalition of Chambers, a consortium of 19 Chambers.
He serves on the County of Los Angeles Oversight Board
He is well known to various city organization for his contribution to the community. He has been recognized, time and time again, by La Verne Police Dept for the support of its National Night Out . . He was honored with the Patriot Award and Spirit Award by the City of La Verne for his participation in 4th of July Celebrations. He is graduate of the La Verne Police Dept., Citizen”s Academy. He won their Sharp Shooter Award in 2002
Arun has been a resident of La Verne since 1995, when he , with his family, migrated from Nairobi, Kenya where he was born and raised.
While in Kenya, he provided logistic support for Lutheran World Federation, USAID, Danish AID, Swedish AID, He is well travelled in Africa working on projects in EGYPT, SOMALIA, UGANDA, TANZANIA, BURUNDI, RWANDA, ZANZIBAR and KENYA
Arun is married to Vanita Tolia, his wife of 42 years and has four daughters TITLED ‘ Perfect One, Awesome One (recent upgrade from Reliable One), Favorite One and the Only One and has six grandchildren from 11 year to 2yrs
